Chapter One begins here...
Nothing dramatic happened.
You just quietly stopped recognizing yourself.
The faith is still there. The calendar is still full. You're still showing up, still serving, still holding things together. But something went quiet inside a while ago, and you've been too (fill in the blank) to ask what it was.
It's time to ask.
Small Running Title
This is not therapy. This is not a program. This is a sacred space for what's been unspoken.
“There is a crack in everything. That's how the light gets in.”
—Leonard Cohent

This space is for you if...

Butter Croissant - $2.5
Coffee/Tea - $1
Fresh Juice - $2

You know the Word. You've led women's Bible studies, held prayer circles, shown up for everyone else's crisis — and somehow yours never made the agenda.
Pastries - $4
Butter Croissant - $2.5
Coffee/Tea - $1
Fresh Juice - $2

People describe you as strong. You've stopped correcting them. It's easier than explaining the kind of tired that sleep doesn't fix.

You're not in crisis. Nothing is on fire. But something is missing — and you can feel its shape, even if you can't name it yet.
Chapter Two
What is Storywork?
Your story is not a problem to solve. It's a text to be read.
Storywork is the practice of returning to the chapters of your life with fresh eyes — not to relive them, not to rewrite them, but to finally hear what they were always trying to tell you.
It's a reflective, healing, and spiritually formative practice that explores the stories that have shaped your soul — the ones you've lived, and the ones you've inherited. We look at the head-scratching moments, the seasons of joy, the sorrow, the transformation, and the places where God showed up in ways you may not have recognized at the time.
God has been in your story longer than you've been paying attention. Storywork is learning to look back...and finally see it.
What It is NOT:
-
Trauma Dumping
-
Rewriting the past to sound positive
-
Diagnosing what's "wrong w/you"
-
Blaming your family

The Journey
Every transformation follows a pattern. Here's what the journey often looks like.
Stage 1
The Call
Something stirs. A restlessness. A question you keep circling without asking.
Stage 2
Threshold
You sense the old path isn't enough. You're standing at the edge of something new.
Stage 3
The Descent
The journey turns inward. You begin to face what's been avoided or unknown.
Stage 4
Discovery
Patterns emerge. Meaning takes shape. You start to see the thread running through it all.
Stage 5
The Return
You step back into your life, but differently. Integrated. Awake to the story you're living. Ready to help others.

Story Catcher?
Journey Junkie?
Deep Listening?
No matter what it's called, I love walking alongside stories. These are some of the places women find themselves when they first reach out.
This is just a chapter...not the whole story.
Creative Awakening
When the art or the calling that used to feel like joy has gone quiet — and you can't tell if that's grief or invitation.

Spiritual Questioning
When you're navigating a shift in your faith and you need a witness who won't panic alongside you.
What's My Purpose
When you've done everything you were supposed to and it still feels like something is missing.
Hitting the Wall
The dark night of the soul. The crisis of faith. The obstacle that stopped you cold and won't let you go around it.
Holy Listening
Learning to hear God again — or maybe for the first time — with your whole self, not just your theology.
What's Next
A new chapter knocking. Something is ending and something else is beginning.
“So take seriously the story that God has given you to live. It’s time to read your own life, because your story is the one that could set us all ablaze.”
― Dan B. Allender, To Be Told: Know Your Story, Shape Your Future
My Approach
How I Hold Space
Spiritual direction through storywork is not about giving advice or solving problems. It's about creating a sacred container where your deepest truths can emerge and be witnessed with compassion.
Deep Listening
I listen not just to your words, but to the spaces between them — where the soul often speaks most clearly.
Gentle Inquiry
My questions are invitations, not interrogations. We go at your pace, with your wisdom leading.
Sacred Presence
Whatever arises — joy, grief, doubt, fury, wonder — it's welcome here. There's no agenda but the Holy Spirit's.
Narrative Integration
We weave the threads of your past, present, and becoming into a coherent, meaningful whole.
Chapter Three
Ways We Can Work Together

Spiritual Retreats
A few days away. Deep reflection, creative spiritual practice, and renewal in a space designed for rest,
not more output.

Cinema Divina/
Group Work
With the use of creative spiritual disciplines in a group setting, we "slow you down and let the (biblical and personal) story find you — not the other way around."
Choose the path that resonates with where you are in your journey.

״When we leave the pen in His (God) hands we will never be disappointed with the story of our lives.״
free but priceless
Free Reflection Prompts
Your story is more than a series of memories. To engage it honestly is to collide with your heart. Start here.
The Unexpected Turn
Recall the moment your life shifted direction. What were you seeking before it? What did you find after? Write for fifteen minutes without stopping.
The Unopened Door
What invitation have you been declining? Describe the door. What do you imagine is on the other side?
Back to the Future
Write a letter from yourself 10 years in the future. What does that wiser self want you to know right now?
My Shero
Which woman in Scripture resonates most with where you are right now? Write her a letter. Tell her what her story has meant to yours.
The Gift of the Wound
Consider a painful season. What unexpected strength emerged from it? How has it quietly shaped the woman you've become?
The Discipline of Gratitude
List ten things you're grateful for. Then go deeper: why these? What do they reveal about what actually matters to you?

Your Guide
Dr. Shonda Carter
Storylogian · Spiritual Director · Rulebreaker
I didn't plan to have an alphabet behind my name or becoming a version of the person I needed when "it" got hard. But somewhere between the degrees and the devotionals and my own story breaking open, I discovered what I was actually made for: sitting with women who are too faithful to fall apart and too honest to pretend they haven't.
